As the dust settles on another successful Jax Tech event, powered by SourceFuse, we find ourselves reflecting on a day filled with enlightening discussions, groundbreaking insights, and the palpable energy of a community united by a passion for technology. Held on October 10th, the event once again lived up to its reputation as a premier gathering for tech enthusiasts, professionals, and visionaries in the region. 

Our Fall event for 2024 showcased some of the deep innovation happening here in Jax around Transportation Tech, including Electric Vehicles, Autonomous Vehicles, and automated transportation. As usual, we began with a happy hour focused on networking, live music, food, and beverages. It was held at a unique setting for attendees to witness cutting-edge inventions like the Electric Vehicle Innovation Design Center (EVIDC) and a JTA autonomous downtown shuttle.

Kerri Stewart – Chief Strategy Officer, Miller Electric & President, Miller EV Solutions

Miller Electric pioneered an Electric Vehicle Innovation Design Center (EVIDC), which was open to the public and utilized by companies in the EV industry around the world. The event provided insights into the tech and business of the EV charging industry, highlighting the innovations on the horizon. Kerri shared valuable information about the industry and the technology behind it, giving attendees a firsthand look at the EVIDC.

Lee White – Founder and President, LM White Consulting

As a strategic advisor and autonomous trucking expert, Lee specializes in crafting strategies, business models, and roadmaps that position organizations for long-term success in the rapidly evolving autonomous vehicle (AV) trucking industry. With a deep understanding of the end-to-end supply chain ecosystem, he serves as an advisory board member and strategy consultant to a diverse range of organizations, from innovative startups to Fortune 500 companies. Lee provided the insights and observations about the nascent world of autonomous land-based transportation and where the industry may be heading, the challenges it must overcome, and what the possible future might look like.

Greer Johnson Gillis – Chief Infrastructure & Development Officer, Jacksonville Transportation Authority

The JTA made several advancements around Autonomous and Electric vehicles for the city of Jacksonville. These included building out the Bay Street Innovation Corridor, installing fiber infrastructure, and constructing a command and control center for the autonomous downtown of the future. Greer shared some of the underlying tech and innovations used in this initiative, showcasing one of the fully autonomous vehicles that was used in the downtown corridor, which was onsite at the event.
