Following the successful return of the Jax Tech Meetup Group networking events, Jax Tech held its first speaking event of the season on 21 October, 2021. Sponsored and organized by Kelly Dyer, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, SourceFuse, this particular event brought together a unique group of cybersecurity technologists and visionaries to discuss infrastructure and data security related topics. As well as the networking and socializing aspect, it featured interactive presentations from leading experts exploring how cybersecurity is impacting business, software, and technology.
Featured Cybersecurity Speakers
Michael Bouchet, Chief Information Officer, Newfold Digital, kicked off the event. He shared the experiences, technology innovations, and challenges when it comes to protecting a leading web and domain provider from cyber-attacks. He shared key insights for responding to the exponential increase in cyber-attacks, and how to protect a global infrastructure.
Next up, Steve Giovanni, Chief Technology Officer, Ventra Health, discussed the use of passwords. As a security professional and thought-leader, he shared his vision for how we might one day be free of passwords.
Lastly, Steve Wingate, Director of Information Security, Kraton Corporation, shared his “Sunny Side Up” approach to cybersecurity. Training teams about security best practices, core concepts, and what individuals can do to help, can put a positive spin on a subject loaded with negative implications.
Networking at its Best
Held at MOSH, Jacksonville’s Museum of Science and History, around 100 Jax Tech members continued to exchange ideas and inspiration in a relaxed and entertaining setting. Thanks to our additional sponsors, every Jax Tech event includes a truly social aspect, with ‘happy hour’ drinks, food, and live music, celebrating in-person networking and building relationships.
